I’m going to let you in on a little secret.

All my life, I have never been an active person. In fact, I didn’t start working out till my mid-twenties!

Born in Chennai, raised in Qatar, I moved to India to pursue a career in physiotherapy. With both my parents being doctors, medicine has always had a special place in my life. But inspite of all that, “fitness” was never a priority for me. What changed everything was a string of incidents.

My sister was diagnosed with Leukemia. I moved to another city to pursue Physiotherapy. Within a year, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis.

What brought the hammer down was losing my sister. My health continued to deteriorate. Medicines, special diets, stress reduction – nothing worked!

Post graduation, I finally took the decision to get well, and joined a gym. Did it help?

Yes. For about 15 days. Then the monotonous workouts started making me feel unmotivated and frustrated!

I found fitness when I chose to create workouts for myself. New workouts daily, the sheer variety kept me motivated and dedicated to persevere towards a fitter lifestyle.

As I regained my health, I decided to make a career helping people based on the premise – “Prevention better than cure, fitness rather than physio”. In 2012, I began my fitness studio. With the experience I gained training more than 800 people, and new certifications I earned along the way, my mindset towards fitness evolved.

Fitness is much more than just working out daily. Truly sustainable fitness is only possible through lifestyle change – nutrition, sleep, relaxation, recovery AND working out!

This train of thought led me to create – Holistique.
